Good, Gooder, Goodest

Ah, Grammar – that vital set of rules, which all must follow lest they dare to look a fool.

Unless, of course, you’re six years old.

This week my daughter declared that her uncle, Robbie, is ‘the goodest in our family since he is in the Army.’

Well he was in the Navy and now is in the National Guard, but we’ll just go with Army.

The point is that, yes, he is the goodest – along with all of the other men and women who serve our country. Thanks to you all for protecting the nation that we established 239 years ago.

Happy Fourth of July everyone!
